highest in the world.

Studying in Australia: Costs
Planning your budget smartly can help you stay on top of your finances while studying abroad.
Calculate the estimated cost of studying in Australia before you depart from India, taking into
account additional expenses like accommodation, food, health coverage, and travel. This will help
you plan your budget more effectively.
Your primary expense will be tuition fees depending on the course and university that you choose.
Medical degrees are often among the most expensive courses in Australia.
The average annual fees range from AUD 25000-45000.
Where will you live?
International students have access to on-campus residence facilities at most Australian universities.
If you choose to live off-campus, you can share an apartment with other Indian students or stay with
a local Australian family. Rent is usually paid in advance every two weeks. Rent varies from city to
city.
The cost of living
You should keep a little money aside for your grocery shopping, social activities, and emergencies.
Students living in foreign countries should keep track of their expenditures to avoid overspending.
In Australia, general living expenses amount to $21,041 per year. The average international student
spends between $20,000 and $27,000 a year (depending on your living arrangements and personal
choices).
Keep safe. Consider health support and insurance
All students who are planning to travel to Australia from India must get medical insurance before
they begin their programs. (Approximate) The average annual premium for medical insurance is
approximately AUD 500. For Indian students in Australia, extensive health services are available.
We can help you find the right Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC).
Taxes are not to be ignored
Students in Australia cannot work without a Tax File Number (TFN). This allows you to work 20
hours per week during academic sessions and full-time during vacations. Your earned income will
be taxable if you work while studying.
Budgeting may also be affected by exchange rate fluctuations. You should also look for a part-time
job while studying in Australia or apply for scholarships at the universities you apply to. This can
greatly reduce the cost of studying abroad.
Education System In Australia
If you choose to study in Australia, you can rest assured that you will receive some of the best
education available anywhere. Its schools and universities consistently rank among the best in the
world and are highly regarded for their research and training methods.
Australia's education system is defined by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), a
national policy established in 1995.
In addition to the school leaving certificate, known as the Senior Secondary Certificate of
Education, this document defines the qualifications across tertiary education (higher education,
vocational education, and training). Your degree will be recognised and authorised by the
government through the AQF.
The AQF consists of 10 levels that connect schools, colleges, universities, and other educational
institutions into one national system. This gives students the freedom of choice and better career
planning should they move from one study level to another while fulfilling their student visa
requirements.
There is a university education level at the top of Australia's educational system. In total, 41
universities exist, with 39 being public and two being private. Bachelor degrees as well as graduate
programs, such as graduate diplomas, master's degrees, and doctoral degrees, are provided.
In addition, you can join a vocational training course that can lead to university studies or
employment.
Universities and private colleges both offer postgraduate courses in Australia. There are three types
of master's degrees: Master's degree (coursework), Master's degree (research), and Master's degree
(extended). Similarly, at a PhD level, there are Research doctorate (PhD) and Professional
doctorate.
A strong academic record and high proficiency in English are required at the postgraduate level.
Intakes in Australia
What are the upcoming intakes in Australia?
Learn everything you need to know about Australia's intakes
The Australian universities and colleges have two thematic intakes, unlike the Indian universities
that have a single intake. In some universities, intakes may also be referred to as a semester. The
two intakes available in Australia are:
● Semester 1: Starts late February/early March to late May/early June
● Semester 2: Starts late July/early August through to November
What is the best intake?
It can be confusing to pick the intake that's right for you. When making your decision, consider
factors such as the availability of your preferred program, your academic records, entrance test
scores, acceptance rates, job opportunities, and your readiness to begin the program.
Despite the preference of most Indian students for the July intake, some programs are equally
successful with the February intake. We suggest submitting your application to the next intake if
you haven't yet received your score cards.
